Table for 15 Please!

I recently had the pleasure of dinning at The Four Seasons in New York City, the epitome of the Manhattan restaurant scene. The restaurant is beautiful, the menu is to die for and I can get super glam for the night.
As all ladies know, there is a lot of prep that goes into choosing the perfect outfit for any event. I took pictures and sent them to friends, tried on countless looks & styles, little black dresses, sequin tops and furs before deciding I had gotten it right. I went with a long sleeve, patterned dress from Francesca's the type that fits so perfectly you feel as though it was made just for you.

Being much older than I was during my list visit to The Four Seasons I was able to appreciate all aspects of the experience. The bubbling indoor fountain, a Picasso in the hall and seasonally changing trees had me seriously impressed. I am determined to replicate the chains strung between the windows that appear to be moving, in my own house one day!

The illuminated mirror in the ladies' lounge has the allure of a vintage Hollywood dressing room.
( I wish this picture captured the zipper running the entire length of the back of my dress! )
We were there to honor my amazing grandmother for her 85th birthday, she would beat me if she knew i revealed her age! Voila !She was presented with a fluffy cloud-like tray of cotton candy complete with sugar coated pieces of lavender and topped with a candle. Yummm, sugar. So unique!

If you're ever dinning at The Four Seasons I would recommend trying the French Martini. Two of those will have even the most seasoned drinkers feeling warm and fuzzy!

Dayglow "The World's Largest Paint Party"

Since it's debut in 2006 Dayglow has taken the nation by storm. The out of this world combination of high-energy music, lights, performers and of course LOTS OF PAINT is truly a unique and spectacular show. When I first heard that the tour was coming to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania I was ecstatic, and of course immediately starting thinking of what I would wear. I've been to many events that showcase quite a spectacle but nothing of this magnitude. After racking my brain for something imaginative and original that would not be completely ruined by all the paint I decided to get creative and make my own pair of Snooki inspired boots.
I used a pair of ugg-like boots from Wal-Mart and attached faux fur with elastic and Velcro. They looked awesome at the beginning of the night but by the end of the night they were a Dayglow inspired work of art. There were some equally artistic and creative outfits but these were definitely one of a kind.

If you have been to Dayglow or a similar event I would love to see how you made your outfits unique and individual! I need inspiration for the next show

Suburban Street Style

For a long time I have considered myself a city-girl stuck in the suburbs. It is easy to get the impression that life outside the city is filled with cardigans and pearls and that every house has a white picket fence. Being a resident of suburbia doesn't mean shopping only in department stores or mirroring "Bree Van De Kamp".

When city-sleek hits the suburban streets it tends to turn some heads. It is easy to put together a fashionable ensemble when you are surrounded by designer boutiques on every block, but when the seasons latest and greatest are not just around the corner creativity goes a long way. Cities are filled with people using fashion to make a statement, but less competition means more recognition when you are the neighborhood's most stylist resident. This suburban fashionista mixes patterned tights with loud colors to prove that every community is home to lots of fabulously fashionable ladies.

Love this Lehigh Valley Street Style !

Cut & Paste

It looks like cut-outs aren't just for art class. This seasons designers are giving us ways to show some skin in unexpected places. A strategically placed slit can make an outfit super sexy, but revealing too much can take trendy to trashy very quickly. I love this style, especially leaving openings around the waist.

The black underneath is not working for me, and this dress reminds me of the snowflakes I used to cut up in elementary school.

Don't forget your spray tan for those areas that haven't seen the sun lately! No one wants to be caught looking like Casper the friendly ghost. Whenever I wear styles that expose my under garments I take careful consideration into whether I want to make a statement with bold or bright lingerie or focus on the outfit and keep it neutral below.
