For a long time I have considered myself a city-girl stuck in the suburbs. It is easy to get the impression that life outside the city is filled with cardigans and pearls and that every house has a white picket fence. Being a resident of suburbia doesn't mean shopping only in department stores or mirroring "Bree Van De Kamp".
When city-sleek hits the suburban streets it tends to turn some heads. It is easy to put together a fashionable ensemble when you are surrounded by designer boutiques on every block, but when the seasons latest and greatest are not just around the corner creativity goes a long way. Cities are filled with people using fashion to make a statement, but less competition means more recognition when you are the neighborhood's most stylist resident. This suburban fashionista mixes patterned tights with loud colors to prove that every community is home to lots of fabulously fashionable ladies.
Love this Lehigh Valley Street Style !

"As an added bonus to the ladies whom are thinking of living here...pack nothing but black polish for the toes, one hour walking through the city will blacken the best pedi...U have to wear flops cause it's so hot, but u have to scrub & expholiate ur feet everytime u come home. I call my black flip flops, my philly flops. No need to ever buy light colored, like u would in the suburbs, or anywhere else but here. Oh, and if you don't like dirt, move to Chicago! Very clean city." ~Anonymous
Read this comment on Talk Philly and thought it fit perfectly, not to mention it's kinda funny. In my position, the atmosphere in North Philly doesn't shall I say "agree" with nice looking clothing. Hence, I'll be wearing my dirty Polo's shoes until I graduate. Unfortunate but true.
